Rodding

In another topic someone listed these links for rodding according to MIA:

I've been recommended by many to use 1/8 x 1/4 rectangular rod (ex.fish tape). In these links they recommend threaded round rod with fiberglass mesh as the best option. What is everyones opinion and (http://maplered.com) why do you choose your method? I also noticed that rectangular fiber glass had better test results than metal rectangular rods. I know GranQuartz carries these fiberglass rods. Does anyone use them?
